I have a very spoiled (and relatively well behaved) lab/chessie names Mocha.

We loved our stay with the dog in October 2024. The hotel was comfortable and clean. Staff were very friendly and accommodating with the dog. There is very little grass downtown but there is a grassy/dirt area right across the street from the hotel, and a small dog park down the street. Dogs, understandably, are not allowed in the central food/seating area on the sky lobby floor, BUT are allowed at table around the edge of the sky lobby, so we were able to take part in breakfast and evening snacks/drinks. There is also underground parking on site. The only thing I would suggest is if you stay here, your dog needs to be comfortable with elevators and people. You take an elevator to the sky lobby (I think floor 6?) and then walk across the lobby to take another elevator to the room.

We had a great 90 minute tour of the river with a very knowledgable and fun tour guide. Mocha mostly enjoyed it too (boats are not her thing). Staff were very welcoming to us and the dog. Highly recommend. (And you can bring drinks!)

Great place to walk! Lots to see (and smell for the pups). Very clean. If you walk any real distance, there will likely be some stairs as an FYI (over/under bridges).

A must-stop when we're in Bar Harbor. Small store, but unique items. Dog friendly. Bought a rope lobster toy.

Great store with TONS of fun things to buy for dog loves (and golf lovers)

My dog loved this! Trains move slowly, lots of space. My dog got to hang her head out the door and watch the world go by. She loved it.

Huge park, great views, dog friendly (on leash).

The staff at the terminal were very friendly and welcoming. We planned to book a mailboat tour (2-3 hrs, dog friendly). Because it was my dog's first time on a ferry, they suggested we take the ferry to one of the islands and back - shorter for the dog with a break in the middle. Very fun. Clean and lots of space on board. There's some vibration on deck, which my dog didn't love on the way out, but it's a lot better inside.

This is a fun place to bring your dog - park and walk around the island if you want. Paths are well kept, lots of water entry for your water loving dogs. Not a ton of parking.

Large and clean beach. We were there in Oct 2019, so it was pretty quiet.

Clean hotel with large rooms. Friendly staff who are very welcoming and accommodating to dogs. They let us do takeout from the buffet (attached restaurant) so we weren't leaving the dog alone.
Beautiful drive, especially in the fall with the changing colours. Lots of places to pull off for pictures, picnics or short hikes.

Great selection of stores. You will either walk a lot or have to move your car a couple times, as the mall is large. Most of the stores are pet friendly. There is a sticker on all stores that are pet friendly (from memory, I think it's a paw print) so you don't have to ask at each store. Lots of shade and benches.

Stayed here with my dog in Oct 2019. Large hotel and very clean. All the staff were very dog friendly. This was my dog's first hotel stay ever and they were so good about welcoming us and offering cookies (for dogs and humans). There is a water bowl in the reception area, which my dog immediately knocked over and they were so nice about it. Hotel itself is very clean. Lots of doors in/out (key card to get back in) so it's easy to take your dog out. Restaurant is attached to hotel.

The park and stretch of beach is huge - there is a long section dedicated as the dog beach. Enough space to spread out and allow dogs to swim and play. Beach/sand relatively clean. The parking lots (along each section of beach) are large, with washrooms and outside water available to clean up before you get back in the car. There are tons of trails and camping site, a supply/gift shop, food and ice cream. Bathrooms are clean.

We visited in Oct 2019 and planned our route to stop here. It's a really special place full of dogs and dog lovers. Lots of space for the dogs to run free and play, with beautiful views for their humans. The gallery had lots of fun dog art, with options to fit all price ranges. The chapel demonstrates how beloved our dogs are to us! Make sure to take pictures of any dogs who have crossed the rainbow bridge to leave in the chapel!

Beautiful park to honour Beautful Joe. There are also memorials/recognition to police dogs, service dogs and beloved pets.
Parking was a bit difficult - we ended up parking along the road on the other side of the river.

Dog friendly gondola ride up Mount Mansfield (summer/fall). The cost for people was reasonable, and I think there was no charge for the dog. Once up, the views were amazing with lots of hiking trails. You can also choose to walk down the mountain. There were a ton of happy dogs.
The only heads up I'd give - the gondola had quite a vibration. Not enough to bug the humans, but my dog was not happy. I'm sure any small dog who could be held would be fine. But something to consider with a larger dog who has to be in the floor.
