Good location but very standard
Baymont by Wyndham SocorroNot much to write home about. Standard motel-type room. Shower gel dispenser did not work. Small pet relief area. Large parking lot outside rooms which was very dirty. Our dog came in with black paws every time he went out.
Quirky comfortable lodging
Rocket InnReally cute, quirky place. Made staying in TorC worthwhile. Appreciated the dog linens, towels and poop bag(s). Very helpful manager.
Lovely hotel
The Hotel DenverGreat hotel for humans. Nothing stands out for pets but we enjoyed the room. No real pet relief area but this wasn’t too much of an issue. Well located.
Friendly welcome
The River's Edge Motel Lodge & ResortSituated along the river and next to a dog park, this hotel is perfectly located. Except for a couple of rooms, all others require steps to be climbed. The steps are metal grates, so this could be a challenge for some dogs. Rooms are pretty standard - could do with some upgrading but they were clean.
Great hotel, perfect location
Element MoabEasily the best pet friendly hotel we have been to. Great breakfast and lovely rooms with kitchenettes; ideal for pet feeding.
Not the best hotel
Thunderbird LodgeA bit of a challenge if you are traveling on your own as you cannot leave your dog in the room unattended and the restaurant does not allow dogs. Great proximity to Canyon de Chelly (which also does not allow dogs except on paved roads/parking areas). Hotel was a bit tired and could do with some upgrades. Perfect location. Comfortable enough for an overnight stay.
Great location but not exactly dog friendly
DoubleTree by Hilton DurangoThe location along the river and walking distance to the shopping areas was perfect. However, not being allowed to leave your pet alone in the room under any circumstances does mean that this hotel is not exactly pet friendly. They do have other benefits like pet bowls, treats and a pet menu (did not try it) but all pet owners carry these items with them anyway.
Clean, comfortable
La Quinta by Wyndham CarlsbadWe try to use La Quinta whenever we travel as the rooms are clean and big. We always get a good reception.
Average facilities, friendly staff
Magnuson Hotel Red BaronThe rooms clearly had a somewhat recent coat of paint but otherwise the hotel was underwhelming. Very dirty outside and very tired inside. Bathtub was cracked and hair was found in the bathroom sink. The host was very friendly and went out of her way to find a room in which the wifi worked for me (but it was still very slow). The friendliness of the host bumped a two star rating up to a three.
Give this place a skip
Kayenta Monument Valley InnVery ordinary hotel, quite grungy. Overdue for a facelift. Loud A/C. Bathroom fan inoperable. Not exactly pet friendly- lots of ‘do not walk you pet on this property’ signs around. Due to COVID-19 restrictions there were no facilities available, not even a grab and go breakfast. At this price, definitely not worth it.
Good location, good breakfast
Best Western Plus Ruby's InnThis is a large complex which needs a facelift. We were given a ground floor room which meant that, every time the shower or toilet was used upstairs we heard VERY loud water noises. Kept us up at night.
The breakfast was a pleasant surprise - good hot options as well as a cold grab and go option. Not sure why the pet fee was $30, especially as pets were not allowed to be left alone in the rooms.
Nice large room, lots of dogs around
La Quinta by Wyndham MoabGood clean room. Great to see so many dogs around. Small ‘dog park’ on the property. Standard breakfast for places like this. Seems a bit pricey but not having a pet fee makes it affordable.
Great rooms and facilities for dogs
Yavapai LodgeLoved the updated rooms at the Lodge. They cater very well for dogs with large crates and food bowls. Certainly five stars for those facilities.
No wifi to speak of. Antiquated approach to checking-in (having a different surname to my wife was an issue!!!).
Dirty rooms. Pet areas not tended to
Motel 6 Flagstaff AZ - ButlerVery average experience. The room itself was dirty. The pet areas were quite neglected.
As expected in a place like this, the walls and ceiling were paper thin!!
Clean room - noisy heating unit
Econo Lodge SocorroThe room was very clean and the furniture looked quite new. However, the heating unit was incredibly noisy - neither my wife nor I could sleep through the night.
