Nice beach!

First Street Beach

As previous posters said this beach is a little hard to locate the correct path but worth the effort! Do not follow the signs that say dog run, do drive into the large parking lot with the reddish orange roofed pavilions and go inside the break arms. Toward the left end is a boardwalk that has the dog rules but you can enter in other locations as long as it’s in the break arms. The beach is currently narrow due to high water and erosion (2020) But that should change in coming years. Worth the effort to find!

Must be able to lift dog

Short's Brewery

We enjoyed our visit, food and beer with our two basset hounds, but you must be able to lift your dog into the patio area and have a person on both sides to do so.

So pet-friendly

Unruly Brewing Company

Great staff, beer and patio. If it isn't too busy staff will bring out a fresh bowl of water for your dog. During busier times there is usually a "community" bowl. :) You can get great beer and pizza while enjoying the downtown atmosphere.

Dog Friendly and Great Brews

The Brewer's Lounge at Pigeon Hill

One of our favorite places to visit with our dogs! If you go during peak hours you may have to wait for a table, but there are other dog friendly spots downtown if you don't want to wait.

Great Campground and Beach for Dog Families

Sleeper State Park

We recently spent 4 nights at the campground and LOVED it's dog friendly beach! We stayed over 4th of July weekend and the beach was busy, but not overly crowded. And since the dog beach is further down from the buoyed swimming area that helps keep dogs new to the beach from being overwhelmed by a ton of kids.
