Good for dogs, ok for people
TownePlace Suites by Marriott CarlsbadWe stayed here 2 nights with our pup and it was fairly pup friendly. We had a first floor room right next to the exit and there were dog designated areas outside with poop bags available. Only downsides were that we didn’t have conditioner or body wash in our room upon arrival and silverware in the room was dirty. I still appreciated that the room had a kitchen, a couch and a desk area, plus a large bathroom. Also breakfast to go was included in the price of the room. Super convenient.
Tiny Golf Course!
Poco Diablo ResortEveryone was super nice and it is very dog friendly. The restaurant/bar allows dogs on the patio which was a plus and there is a good size dog friendly area. We chose this hotel based on reviews from this site and were surprised to find ourselves on a tiny golf course upon arrival. Spent 3 days hiking and off-roading with the pup and still managed to get in a quick round of tiny golf. Great place!
Perfect spot for a pup at the canyon
Yavapai LodgeSuper dog friendly with a kennel and water bowl in the room! Every morning there were elk right outside our lodge and it was walking distance to the rim (10 mins). No complaints!
Ok for one night
Candlewood Suites Amarillo-Western Crossing an IHG HotelStopped here for one night on a road trip. Overall the stay was average. Dog friendly room, but it was on the 3rd floor which wasn’t convenient for early morning walks. Also no designated dog area outside and the water feature across the street was a disappointment. There’s a bar nearby that was super dog friendly, with a welcoming staff, Coconutz - definitely recommend if you’re in the area looking for a casual spot.
