Great off-leash dog park, open to the public
Vernon Dog ParkGreat park with both a large area for bigger dogs and a separate area for smaller dogs/puppies. Plenty of poop bags available throughout the park, with multiple large garbage cans. Lots of seating and water bowls onsite. The "regulars" are very friendly and welcoming. The area is well cared for and a great place to let your pup run!
Dog-friendly outdoor drive-in theatre
Warwick Drive-In TheaterGreat drive-in theatre with plenty of ample space to walk your pup (on-leash) before/between movies. Concession stand is outdoors too so easy to bring your pup with while you pick out your movie snacks (note- concession stand is CASH ONLY - they do offer an app to use for online card purchases but I did not try it).
Off-leash dog park, beer, food
Bar K Dog BarA MUST-GO place if you're passing through KC with (or without) your pup. No entrance fee required for humans - small entrance fee for 4-legged friends. Lots of space for pups to run, beer and adult beverages for the humans, Live music on weekends, weekly activities, excellent staff, great location - 5 paws up for Bar K!
Dog-friendly coffee shop
The Daily BeanA true hidden treasure, The Daily Bean is a very dog-friendly (both inside and on patio) spot for a sandwich, pastry, or specialty coffee drink. There are LOTS of options to choose from, and if you visit during the fall, the Pumpkin Chai Latte is one of the best things I've ever tried. The shop offers local selections of doggie treats, pup cakes, and french bulldog-themed merchandise as an ode to their mascot. Would highly recommend if you're in the area and looking for a quick bite to eat, caffeinated beverage, or some local treats to sample.
Great food, friendly staff, dog-friendly outdoor dining
Fetch Bar & GrillWe had a great visit here for lunch - the outdoor seating area is dog-friendly with water bowls provided. The staff was very friendly and happily took care of both humans and pups dining with them. The Thanksgiving egg rolls were AMAZING - I would go back just to get those alone! Lots of beer options on tap too. Though there were no "dog food" options on the menu, they did have a side of bacon or eggs (my dog chose the bacon and it was a perfect afternoon treat for him). Great spot to people watch in the downtown area as well. Would highly recommend making a stop here with your pup!
Dog-friendly outdoor patio
SPIN! PizzaOutdoor patio area is dog friendly - no dog bowls provided but you can bring your own. Great service, excellent food, and amazing gelato.
Great place to spoil your pet!
Mixed Mutt Creamery - Permanently ClosedThis cute little shop in a prime location on 39th Street has so much to offer. Between homemade doggy ice cream, bakery-worthy doggy treats, and eco-conscious toys, Mixed Mutt Creamery is hands down my favorite place to stock up on special goodies for my favorite four-legged friends. The owner is a genuine sweetheart and true dog lover herself - she snaps pics of the doggos that visit the shop and posts them on her Instagram page as a cute "thank you for visiting'. The variety in merchandise sold here brings me back time after time- I always find something new and different to purchase.
And if you happen to want a human sweet treat, they offer the high quality, small batch ice cream from Clementine's as well. (Get the Gooey Butter Cake ice cream - you will NOT be disappointed).
If you're looking for a high quality dog (and cat!) boutique, make sure to check this place out! 5 paws up for Mixed Mutt Creamery!
Great fenced-in dog park
Liberty Dog ParkWe have been visiting this park regularly for the past 8-9 months and have had zero issues. Lots of local friendly regulars, and open to newcomers as well! Benches, pavilion with shade, water pump with hose, and a separate area for small dogs all make it a hidden gem in Liberty. I'm sad to see several comments about issues with inattentive owners or aggressive dogs- I have not experienced this in the 50+ times I have been there!
