Beautiful and dog friendly hotel
Carmel River InnThis is the best of the dog-friendly places we have stayed. We rented a cottage. Each house and cottage has its own driveway and landscaping. There are flowers and paths throughout the property with doggie bags and waste bins. It’s a great place to walk the dog. The front desk was very welcoming and we were given a sheet to cover the bed so our dog could join us. We also received some dog treats. The cottage was clean, had a comfortable bed and the kitchenette was well appointed. It’s conveniently located about a 10 minute drive from downtown Carmel. I highly recommend Carmel River Inn.

Hidden Gem in Sedona
El Portal Sedona HotelThis is the nicest dog friendly place we’ve stayed. For humans, the property is great with lots of amenities (like s’mores in a fire pit). Beautiful room with a large bathroom, comfortable bed and a fireplace. For our dog, there was a welcome package with a fleece blanket, towel, sheet (to cover furniture), treats and waste bags. There is a small dog area on the property. Some of the rooms have a small fenced in yard.

Truly a dog friendly hotel
Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & SpaWe only spent one night at the Sonoma Mission Inn and had a great experience. At checkin, we requested a dog bed and bowl and it was dropped off with a gift box for our Dalmatian, Olive. The property has lots of green spaces with plenty of waste bags. Olive even got to play with a few other dogs. We would definitely I stay here again.

Dog friendly, thin walls
Pacific InnPacific Inn is an older property with updated rooms. We had a lower level room which opened directly to the outside. Parking is also convenient to the rooms. There is a small, fenced in, turfed dog area, but no other dog amenities are provided. Given the older look of the outside of the building, I was happily surprised that the bathroom was new. We only stayed one night, but would not have been happy staying here for longer. The walls (and ceiling) are thin. We could hear people next door arguing and when someone in the room above us took a shower it sounded like they were showering in our room. If you need a clean motel to stay with your pet, this place is a good option. Hopefully, your neighbors will be quiet (and won’t shower too late or too early).
