I've had bad experiences at Red Roofs before, so I was leery, but this hotel property was really, really nice for the $80! Everything was well-maintained and tidy, the room was clean and decor newer than expected. The dog walking area was tiny but probably because of the signs saying $250 fine if you don't pick up after your dog, and cameras in use, the grounds were clear of dog droppings and trash. The Red Roof sign had fallen down and I didn't let my dogs walk near that, nor the boarded up building next door!
The only reason I gave four stars is because of the other guests. The one across from us and the one above us stayed up ALLLLL NIGHT. The one across the hall talked all night on a cell phone, making various calls, and we could hear every word. At one point we thought they were standing in the hallway outside our door, it was that loud. The guest above us played their TV at FULL VOLUME all night, watching car-chase movies and people-screaming movies with heavy bass soundtrack music. These activities went on, I am not exaggerating, starting at 11 pm and ending around 4 am. I am a light sleeper and I did not sleep at all.
Just when we all fell asleep around 4:00, the guest upstairs turned on the TV again at full volume around 5 am. They only left the TV on for a minute or two. Well, I make my dogs keep quiet out of concern for other guests. There should be a "quiet hours" period from 11 pm to 6 am or something. I live in a tourist town and there is an ordinance called "quiet hours" along those lines. This hotel should consider something like this. Also, breakfast was only from 6-9 am, so anyone wanting to grab a quick bite after 9 but before checkout is outta luck. That didn't apply to us, but I thought it would be a little unfair to other people who may not be early risers. Like I said this property was surprisingly nice and a good location right off the highway, easy to find. The problem was the other guests!

Very comfortable & clean. Good stay for one night.

This was the final night of a 20-day trip across the US. The hotel was in a pretty location between two mountains and there’s even a little walking path thru the woods. When we left, our GPS took us on the Blue Ridge Parkway — a real treat! There was a hiccup when I checked in & the hotel couldn’t find me in their computer. The only reservation that got messed up out of the 12 or so that I booked this month. Every other property had me right there and handed me the keys. It got sorted out after a lengthy wait and phone calls. A good stay for our final night of an epic trip.

This place was fabulous. The room was huge & even had a kitchen sink. It was beautiful and clean. The only part we didn’t like was that we were put on the 3rd floor due to bus loads of tour groups getting all the lower floor rooms. My dog is terrified of elevators and too old to do stairs. At 62 pounds we had to push him into the elevator every time we went in or out. We stayed two days so this was grueling for him. Another negative was that there were no outside trash receptacles so when picking up after the dogs I had to walk to a nearby store to throw away the poop bags. Boo. But this hotel was excellent otherwise and the breakfast was so good!! Highly recommend if you’re staying in the Sturgis area close to Rushmore, Badlands and Crazy Horse.

The walking areas were good, after spending so many nights at hotels in the west with no grass. There’s a lot of grass around this hotel and the surrounding neighborhood. The entry door closest to our room was broken so that a card (or anything) was not needed to open it. Not a great security feature. We were on the first floor and right by that door so I triple locked our room door. While it was good when my hands were full to be able to just pull the door open, it wasn’t good security. This should be fixed asap. The bathroom fan was SO LOUD. Room kind of small compared to the Baymont we stayed in a night or two before. This was fine for one night. Lots of other dogs were staying there too which is always good.

Wow! This place was gorgeous. Everything brand-new. Not renovated… new! Great breakfast with real plates, cups and silverware! Nice walking area all around the hotel and hotels next door. Staff super friendly. There’s nothing negative to say about this place at all.

In high school I drove a 1963 Cadillac. I always wanted to go to Cadillac Ranch. Hey, it’s a cheesy tourist trap but I loved it. Super dog-friendly. Hot but my 13 year old pooch handled the walk from the car to the cars well! Just be sure to keep your dog away from spraying paint as it is windy there sometimes. Buy a trinket from the guy at the exit.

This store is awesome! Dog friendly!

Our favorite show & the store did not disappoint! So many tchotchkes to choose from! Super dog-friendly but beware it’s small inside.

If you love the song, you have to stop here! Dogs welcome even in some of the stores.

As seniors with senior dogs this was just right. We camped at Mather Campground & went to the south rim, visitor center & general store each day. Dogs not allowed in any buildings nor on trails. But to us that was fine.

Didn't realize Best Friends was here saw it as we were driving by on the way up Zion NP. The next day we stopped at Best Friends. Dogs only allowed at the welcome center. Not allowed on tours. That’s ok we just wanted to stop in, take photos, and buy some swag. We were able to walk our dogs around near the welcome center which was nice.

A must see but very prepared to just drive and not park. The lots were full full full but no one tells you that. We managed to find a spot to pull over for a view & took the dogs out to walk back & forth. The place is awe inspiring. Couldn’t get Bark Ranger badges because couldn’t get near the visitor center.

Front desk staff were super nice. The lobby was gorgeous except for the leaking roof in one spot. We were given a second floor room but there is no elevator so our elderly dog would have had difficulty. I requested a first floor room and the only one available was an accessible room which was fine, but the room was small and in need of renovation & the electrical sockets were loose and there was only one. Had to charge our phones in the bathroom. Carpet was gross. No cable or satellite tv just Roku. The river walk didn’t do much for me either but probably would be nicer in better weather. Location was way on the outskirts of town which I didn’t realize when I booked online. It was fine for one night and they are visibly in the middle of doing renovations so it’ll probably be better by next spring.

Our room was gorgeous. The mattress was saggy though. I have to tell you the walking areas for guests were full of dog droppings. There were no bags in the dog receptacles. I carry my own bags and yes I picked up after my dogs every time. Obviously other guests did not! There’s dog poo everywhere. This hotel needs to hire a pooper-scooper company and have them clean it up 100%. THEN keep your bag receptacles full at ALL times. As for guests if you’re bringing your dog anywhere please pick up after them & bring your own bags just in case. It ruins it for everyone else otherwise. Would have liked to give five bones but I couldn’t get past this. I had to watch where I stepped so I didn’t step in a pile!

As far as the accommodations in the room it was great. My husband who is a fussy sleeper said it was the best night’s sleep he’s ever had in a hotel! Our dogs didn’t bark which was fabulous! The breakfast wasn’t my thing so I didn’t eat any but the coffee was really good! Walking the doggies around the grassy areas was good. I didn’t like the holes and cracks in the pavement a dog could catch a paw in there. Had to be really careful when walking & stepping. In the grass, in one part, there was a huge pile of broken glass as if a large bottle broke. It could have been on the adjacent hotel’s property but I couldn’t determine that. Anyway my dog nearly stepped on it and I had to yank him to avoid it. I didn’t expect to find a huge pile of broken glass in the grass. Good thing I saw it! But really it was a great stay (just one night) and we liked everything. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room, bathroom and the coffee.

The night before, and the night after, we stayed in two other La Quinta hotels. I’d say out of the three, the Russellville property was not as good as the other two. It was still good, clean and welcoming of our pets. The interstate was literally right outside our room and so was the dog area. The traffic was loud all night long. We did get used to it and I noticed the hotel provided a white noise machine but we didn’t use it. The dog area was right out our window and some people with dogs walked past our window but we shut the drapes and it was fine. Like I said the hotel was fine but not as nice as the other two LQs we stayed at on this road trip.

I've had one previous stay at a Motel 6 and it was awful (different location, different state). The Motel 6 in Page was surprisingly great! The dogs were comfy, the coffee was great, good places to walk (though no grass and a few too many pricker berries that got stuck in their paws!) The beds weren't fabulous but they were ok for a couple of nights.
The a/c unit was SO LOUD and it couldn't be regulated very well so that was one negative point. My husband used WD40 on two doors in the building: one was our room's bathroom door that squeaked SO LOUDLY it woke him up and the second door he fixed was the exit door near the pool. Maybe we can get a credit or a refund for his work, haha.
Would've been nice to have a fridge in the room, and cups to drink out of. We used the guest laundry which was super convenient, but there's no change machine, so we had to go to a store and get quarters. All in all I was pleasantly surprised for a Motel 6. I chose it because all the other hotels in Page were full with busloads of tourists and Motel 6 had 4 bones' review on BringFido which I was surprised by. I was skeptical, but it's true. It's a pretty decent place!

This hotel was good. We usually stay at a competitor but they had no availability. The breakfast at your hotel was surprisingly good. Pet area awkward for my pets because they prefer grass. We made it work.

Dogs were disappointed there wasn’t carpet on the floor. I had to bring in both dog beds and a blanket from the car so they wouldn’t slip on the floor and so they had some padding to sleep on. Good for you all for cleaning I guess. Didn’t like the sliding barn door to the bathroom. Heavy, awkward & hurt my shoulder. I liked the separate sink in the room. Exit door to the doggie area was right across the hall. Super convenient! Nice views from atop the hill. Good location for our lengthy road trip.

We booked the room the night before online, and found out later there was a dog show at the convention center even though we didn’t know that. So the hotel was very nice to accommodate us! There were so many dogs! Which I loved, lol. We had a room on the second floor which was a really nice room but we hadn’t done that before and one of my dogs is older. We used the stairs once & the elevator all the other times. My dog was scared of the elevator. The dog walking area was fabulous and the location was excellent with a large gravel lot we could also walk around in. The coffee was good. Breakfast looked great but I didn’t eat it. All in all I loved this hotel. I stayed at three other La Quinta hotels during this trip and they were all good but this one was superior. Five bones!
