Great Food w/Lots of Dog Friendly Seating
Southern PorchWe have been to Southern Porch several times now both with and without our dog for both lunch and dinner, and we haven't been disappointed yet. The food is always excellent and they know how to treat our pup. Friendly to him, water bowls, etc. Highly recommend visiting here if you are in Canton looking for a good/friendly place to eat with the pooch.
Not for Visitors
Surfside Beach Bark ParkWe visit a relative at Surfside Beach frequently with our dog. Would have loved to take him to the park to play Frisbee, etc, but rules require dogs be registered with Surfside. Not worth it for visits. Also, given all of the other Surfside dog rules, there's simply no other place to play. Park looks OK, although it looks pretty scrubby and worn out overall. Also, there are transients that frequent the nearby park. Doesn't feel all that safe, especially in the evenings. If you are a visitor with a dog, I'd look elsewhere.
Not So Sneaky Anymore
The Sneaky BeagleThis place was GREAT for dogs. They definitely know how to treat your pup and offer snacks to purchase for them along with your own food (e.g. bagged chicken jerky). The people food was pretty darn good too. Although not my favorite fare, their tacos were creative and tasty. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive as well. But they aren't so sneaky! Place got busy fast at prime lunchtime. Glad we got there and early for a nice outdoor spot. Would definitely go back.
Gracious to Dogs
Gracious Pig SmokehouseStopped into the Gracious Pig on a lunchtime walk with my dog. They welcomed us with a water bowl right away, and we sat at one of several outdoor tables. Wait staff was very friendly to both me and the pup, and the BBQ was very good. And enough to share a couple of bites of smoked turkey with the dog. Loved the SC mustard sauce. The draft beer selection wasn't great, but usually I don't drink beer with BBQ. For my taste, this was the best of the 3-4
little restaurants by Surfside pier (they are all good) and would definitely go back.
Not Really Mexican - But Good
Chimichanga LlamaThis is a great place to eat with your dog - they had a couple of different outdoor seating options (shaded/sun) and were quick to bring over a bowl for my pup. Friendly staff too. The food was also very good, but it was just - different. I was mistakenly expecting more of a traditional Mexican restaurant, but it had more of a Cuban or Carrbean flare to it. No free chips/salsa either. And I really didn't like the music - felt more like I was at a Disney World themed restaurant. Some people will love this - just not my taste. But again, I highly recoomend it if you're traveling nearby with your dog and are more of the more adventurous sort.
Fi Dough
Pizza HyenaGreat place to bring your pup! They greeted my dog and me and immediately brought a welcome water bowl after a long walk on the beach. Lots of outside seating with great view of walkers and cruisers on Ocean Blvd. Pizza was decent/fresh, and about 6 beers on tap. Best selection of the big three down there. And extremely friendly staff. Would go back.
Dog Lover's Paradise
Great Outdoor Provision Co.This GOPC is fantastic with dogs. They welcomed our pooch with open arms and offered him a treat as soon as we walked in. Unlike the REI in Cary, this is the place to get your outdoor gear if you like to travel/shop with your dog.
