Poor location
Red Roof Inn & Conference Center LubbockFirst, there were roaches in the room. Second, the entire hotel smelled and echoed like a pool building (think chlorine). The hotel is full of long-term residents. There were piles of sheets in the four hallways that I saw day and night, half of the buttons on the elevator didn’t work and there are exposed electrical wires. Then in our room at the end of the hall, you could hear the ice machine halfway down the hallway. The hall that we were in had broken pieces of drywall that didn’t have a visible location that they came from, and had been there for a while. They were there when we checked in on Friday and still there when we checked out on Sunday which means that there was no cleaning in the hallway. I also think that they only have one water heater at the other end of the hotel. I couldn’t get anything warmer than tepid and the water pressure in the sink was not enough to wash your hands.
Don’t Go
Chaparral MotelThe room had a bad smell. The staff was unfriendly. There were no toiletries in the room and no shampoo available at the hotel.
Doesn’t honor reservations and lies to soothe you over
La Quinta by Wyndham Fort Worth NorthWe got to the hotel and there was not a pet friendly room on the ground floor reserved. The clerk went to check on two rooms and said they weren’t available. She then said that the only room available was on the 4th floor or I could take one on the ground floor with 2 twins instead of the Queen. She then leaned closer and whispered, “Due to the inconvenience, I won’t charge you the pet fee.” The day of check out, I noticed an additional charge on my CC. When I asked her about it she said it was the pet fee. I reminded her about what she had said and she stood there and told me, “That was just for you to check-in, we have to charge a pet fee.” Next time someone tells you they are going to wave a fee because they screwed up, make sure it is in writing!! I will NEVER return to this hotel.
Quaint Little Place
Walking Horse Lodge LewisburgThis was a pretty nice place for a last minute booking. Some of the cons are; no coffee pot, advertised breakfast doesn’t exist, no guide for the tv, the room key stopped working. And was told that most of the permanent guests are third shift workers and complained about my dog barking when I left. I was told that I needed to take her with me when I left the hotel room (that doesn’t bode well for anyone wanting to sightsee). So, if you want coffee, bring your own; if you have a dog that whines when left alone, find another place.
Unclean
Motel 6 Texarkana TXUpon arrival, the room had an overpowering odor. The pillowcases looked as though someone had slept on them. And when the morning sun came, we noticed a streak of mold growing on the carpet.
Nice flooring in room
Econo Lodge Inn & SuitesThe flooring was a nice linoleum and pet friendly. The bathroom had one bottle of shampoo and one bar of soap that he ad been used numerous times and had a hair on it. The coffee was HORRIBLE!! I’ve had bad coffee and military coffee before; but I almost spit this coffee out.
The room keys work as long as you stand on one foot, with your eyes squinted and head cocked to the side with your mouth held just right.
