if you're googling... Heward park not kiwanis ...open 24 hours!

this park is in Heward park. i attempted to look up kiwanis dog park, and it sent me everywhere but the right place.
This is a nice, kinda small, but big enough for my two Great Danes to get up to speed and chase each other around. there were 4 big shade trees and a bench. no water was available, but we went really late at night and the sprinklers were on, my fur babies love playing in the sprinklers. :)
potty bags and a trash can were also available. as others have said, there are a lot of digging holes, and humans beware of your footing, but the dogs didn't have any problems at all. the entrance is not "airlock" style, but again, we went super late at night, so it wasn't a problem for us.

dog run, not dog park, good for a pit stop

this is a very small, fenced in area just off the road on the way to the petrified forest. it's enough to let the pups out for a potty break and to stretch their legs, but not a good place for a big play session, unless you have little dogs.
it was actually really clean, no poop hanging out when i went, unlike some of the other reviews.
it was a perfect spot for my pup that refuses to potty on the leash. when we went, it was all grass, no dirt.
no water, no airlock style, but potty bags and a trash can. a picnic table outside the run. also fairly deserted.

Great experience

I took my pups (2 great danes) to the petrified forest. We stayed here at Days Inn (20 mins away). Our room was huge, with a king bed and a couch, lots of floor space for play. Free continental style breakfast, very clean all around. Behind the hotel was a smooth rocky area, and behind that a huge field to walk the pups around in. Lots of great smells. There was a small dog run walking distance, and frequently deserted. It had bags and a trash can, no water and no "airlock" type system. There was another dog park about 10 minutes away, also no water, no airlock, but big enough to get up to speed, with multiple shade trees and a bench. Dog bags provided. The ground is a little uneven in the not grassy spots. Both parks open 24 hrs.

Not very pet friendly

I have 2 great danes. I chose this hotel because it allowed for big dogs ($40/each/night) when I got there, there were signs saying that no dogs were allowed on the bed. When questioned, they said that it was too hard to get the fur out of the sheets, and if the dog is on the bed, they may need to give an additional charge. What am I paying $80 for? They offered dog blankets (packing blankets) for my pups to sleep on the floor.

I also got a really sad lecture about how great danes are wonderful breeds but it's too bad they don't live very long... blah blah blah. The room itself was basically a bed and a bathroom. The tub did not have working jets and if someone down the hall was having a good time, you heard it. The A/C does not go below 70 and they requested that it stays on Auto. I used the bathroom fan and the A/C on ON as white noise, so we ended up only barking a little bit, when people were coming and going from their rooms.

The good point about it is that there is a large grassy (full of ant hills...but still) area to hang out with the pups, and the view from the parking and the grassy area is beautiful. If you have small pups, or a doodle, it's probably a fine and inexpensive place to be.

great patio, great food!

the patio at this place is really nice. the music is a little loud in some places. they happily brought out a (small) bowl for our great dane. they do not have a puppy menu, but the people food is great! i got buffalo chicken nachos and somehow the chips were crunchy through the whole meal! we also had the garbage fries. lots of things here can be changed from meat to veg or vegan.

they love the puppy!

really nice patio! the mister is great on a hot night. definitely recommend the cheese curds... no other place does it quite like a Wisconsin bar...
local beers are awesome, the people food menu is typical wisconsin, brats, beer, cheese, fish n chips. they do have a burger patty or a chicken breast for your puppy. everyone was really friendly and patient with our puppy...who decided he needed to be vocal for a hot minute.

nice patio, great staff

we have been here with our great dane puppy twice. each time he is fawned over and loved. the staff is super happy to fill your puppy water bowl. the atmosphere on the patio is calm and relaxing, the misters are perfect on the hot summer nights. the beer is selection has a great variety of their own beers and a few others. there isn't a puppy menu, but the people menu is really nice. pizzas, burgers, cocktails as well as the beer.
