Pets truly welcome

La Quinta by Wyndham Winchester

Close to I-82 in Winchester, VA, we not only enjoyed the hotel but were able to enjoy Old Town Winchester with our pup. The hotel is clean and rooms do bot have a doggy smell. There are a few small grassy areas and a sidewalk in front of the hotel but no specific dog area or bag/ trash place. The ride to historic Winchester is short and there are a good choice of restaurants. Parking is easy (bring quarters for the meters). Old town is a walking plaza and our dog loved doing so as much as we did! The dog fee is very reasonable at $25 per night as of this review.

A gem for the city of Oneida

Oneida Barks & Recreation

The large and small dog areas were clean and had fun dog playgrounds. Benches and shade sails were provided for owners. There is a water station and dog poo bags and receptacles. There is ample parking. I especially liked the stone dig guard around the fence and the double entry. There is currently a large gate between the two parks that a small dog could slip through into the large dog area. I notified the city. I simply stood there so my guy couldn’t do so. I will bring something to block it until the city has time to rectify. It will not stop my pooch and I from visiting!

I would stay again

Quality Inn Queensbury

The only reason I did not give five bones was because the floor was sticky. I carry disinfectant wipes so I mopped the floor and It was fine. The tub was clean and the beds were comfortable. The desk clerks were great and even made a fresh pot of coffee and called the room when it was ready. There is a sidewalk in front of the hotel to walk as well as a green area in the front and back. Located right on route 9 about 10 miles south of Lake George, there is an American style grill restaurant. Close to shopping, many other restaurants and the Northway (I-87).

Smelled like a kennel

Comfort Suites Hagerstown

The hotel itself was what we expected. Our room was in the basement but had a full window due to the nature of the hotel being situated on a hill. The exit to the dog area was close by and was clean. There are no dog bags provided but there is a trash receptacle prior to entering the hotel. Upon opening our room door we were greeted with a STRONG dog odor. Our room needed a deep cleaning. While our beds were fresh and the bath clean, the floors probably had received a perfunctory mop since the last occupant. Running the AC helped a bit. I reported this information to the manager.

Clean, friendly

Drury Inn & Suites Charlotte Arrowood

Our room was spotless and the dog area was stocked with poo bags and had ample room for pet relief.

A wonderful dog beach!

Flagler Beach

Our small dog loved running along the seaside. The leash rule really made us feel more comfortable as he is elderly and having other dogs randomly approach is often too much for him. There are no restrooms on the brach but I gave it five bones anyways because it is easy to jump in the car and find a public bathroom. It’s all about our dogs, right?

Everything you need

Candlewood Suites Rocky Mount an IHG Hotel

The suite has a kitchen which allowed us to cook a bit of chicken for our pup as a treat. Dishes etc are right there. We were able to book a first floor room which was nice for our senior dog. There is a specific grassy area for the dog to utilize when nature calls. Our room was clean and the hotel was quiet. We would definitely re-visit for an overnight stay.

Easy to find location

Mario's Pizza & Restaurant

Our dog was immediately given fresh water and some love. Our food was excellent and the wine menu offered selections for any palate. That and friendly, courteous staff made our dining experience wonderful! “Bone” Appetit!

Good for a travel night

Comfort Inn West Hazleton

We were placed on the second floor halfway down a hall so had to use the elevator or stairs for outside visits. There is a nice grassy area for your dog behind the hotel to do a bit of on-lease roaming. I only saw one dog poo pile (shame on that owner) It was unfortunate that there were MANY cigarette butts in the hotel landscaping. Obviously those visitors have no regard for others. It would have been nice if staff made an effort to police the areas to ensure it was clean. Our room was just acceptable. The bed was clean as was the bath. The carpet had stains and I found a contact lens in the ice bucke which made me wonder how much cleaning is done prior to the next guest arriving. There is a cafe but we found nothing about it in the room. The breakfast items were fine. The hotel has easy to access off 81. As you leave the property go out the side parking lot and there is an exit and light. No u-turns necessary. There is a Perkins next door- no comment as we did not eat there. There is a municipal park within 5 minutes but no dogs allowed. Fine for a travel night.

Convenient but needs sprucing up

Quality Inn Troutville - Roanoke North

Our room was acceptable but “tired”. Our a/c thermostat did not work properly. That said, we could walk to Cracker Barrel which currently has outdoor seating and well- behaved pups are welcome. Your pup cannot go into the store or restaurant and you must pay inside so if alone, this would not be something you could do. It is right next to 81 which was very convenient. Dogs are not allowed in pool area or food area. It was fine for a night while traveling.
