Great BBQ with a Must Try Veggie Option
Char BarDon't get me wrong the traditional BBQ is over the top as well, but the smoked Jackfruit is something even hardened meat eaters should try. It bursts with the flavor of the sauce and smoke, and in no way feels like a second-class vegetarian option. They have a great outdoor patio and are dog-friendly for well-behaved dogs with responsible owners (see Dog Gone Rules posted at the entry). We are definitely coming back the next time we are in KC.

Great Hotel with Boutique Feel
Hotel Indigo Kansas City Downtown an IHG HotelThis hotel is in a great location and filled with charm. The hotel gives you that boutique vibe from the moment you enter the lobby and the rooms do not disappoint. They are spacious, and well-appointed in a retro theme. The staff are friendly and genuinely love pets. The only reason that we are giving it 4 bones instead of 5 is the hefty $40 non-refundable pet “deposit.” When we pointed out that a deposit denotes that it will be returned if your pet does not cause any damage, they agreed to waive the fee. However, pet owners should be aware that it is a fee not a deposit. Otherwise, this is a fabulous hotel!

Psycho Suzi's Motor LoungeI am not sure what scam this place is running, but I would give them zero bones if I could. My husband ordered 2 drinks at the bar and paid for them using Apple pay. The charge shown was @ $24. He added a 20% tip and the total somehow came to $60+. To make matters worse the bartender accused him of not paying for his drinks. When he showed her the charge of $60+ on his credit card using the App on his phone, and asked to have it reversed before paying for our drinks a second time both she and her manager refused claiming they had no record of the $60+ charge on the bartender's tablet. He then paid for the drinks a second time and showed them the duplicate charges. They still refused to reverse the $60+ charge. Finally, in order to leave he had to pay twice and dispute the charge with our credit card company. Unbelievably brazen theft by a merchant. I am appalled! Watch your receipt if you frequent this establishment.
