La Quinta Visalia

La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Visalia/Sequoia Gateway

This is our first time traveling with our dog. I was excited about it and to stay at La Quinta. We never have stayed there. We were very disappointed. The only reason for the 2 stars is the beds were very comfortable and staff was nice. The room looked clean when we entered, but we soon found out it was just the top, underneath it was filthy, like long term filth. Tops of baseboards, next to cabinets, wall switches, hardened mud or gum on bathroom floor, etc. The bathroom door paint was peeling up from the bottom, The toilet seat shifted to the left every time we sat on it, making us feel like we would fall off, The head board for the bed was connected to the wall and every time my husband's pillow touched it it shook and rattled like it was going to fall off. There was 2 drawers for storage measuring about 6 inches deep by 20 inches wide, they were at the bottom of the cabinet that held the TV and a small microwave and refrigerator. That was all the storage other than shelves in the bathroom that held towels and bathroom supplies. The morning after our first night we hung the placard on the door before we left, asking that our room be serviced. The placard doesn't hang well on the door, so I don't know if it got turned, or service just didn't happen. We got back about 3:00 and the room had not been serviced. I went to the desk and asked for towels, wash cloths, toilet paper and shampoo. Very quickly a young lady showed up with what I had requested. She was pleasant. She also dropped everything on top of the toilet and left. We were unable to figure out how to put the toilet on the roller, so it stayed on the shelf. We will not be going back to La Quinta Inn and Suites, with or without our dog!
