Thin Walls/Noisy Room

We arrived the hotel very late and was grateful our reservation was held as they had no vacancy signs posted. Quick check in and room met expectations. But then our 5:45 am wake up call was the loud barking dog next door and out of control owner. Later other loud talking outside the door interrupted our sleep. And to top it, the AC in room was very loud every time it kicked on. Our room was first level and near the elevator - I know part of the problem and will try not to use those rooms in the future. But still, thin walls and noisy AC.
