Great stay

Hotel Madera

From check in to check out, grade A.
Very much doggy focused when you let them know ahead of time (or when the reservation is thru BringFido.) They even have a "bark and park" option directly on their website if you reserve direct, that gives a pet package - gives "hoomans" free parking (normally $50) for the stay and provide a dog bed, 2 stainless steel bowls and they offer you toys for the room. there is even a bowl of water at the hotel entrance and a bowl of small milk bones so they can help themselves! =)
they take your phone number so that if the babies are barking to a point they are causing guest complaints, instead of charging a fee or requesting you check out like some other places, they can call you and have you come back to settle or sit with them.
they keep some floors with no pets for guests without or allergies etc. which i think is great for those that prefer that.
then the rooms are beautiful. beds are super comfortable. bathrooms are large with awesome showers. also if you can, the balcony rooms are the way to go. the balconies are furnished and spacious and gives the dogs some outside time without waiting for a walk. =)
pricing is moderate for the area. we got a double queen suite for the balcony and extra space (we had 3 dogs) so it was a bit more.. but with the BringFido pricing toooottallyy reasonable. definitely comparable to others in the area.
location wise, is 15 min walk to plenty of things.. or a 5-10 min lyft ride. we were intown for Drunk Shakespeare at the Sage Theatre. (def to do ) then down to U street (clubs/bars) afterwards. everything was within 7-10 min lyft. from the hotel.
if you dont get the valet, theres a parking garage right around the corner. (check spot hero app).
the firefly restaurant in the lobby is super convenient and has a decent brunch. very nice aesthetic also.
check out is noon which is great. and they arent dictators about that .. within reason. =)
overall if youre in the dc area for whatever reason. this is a great spot with or without the floofs!

Friendly place :-)

Aloft Chicago Downtown River North

We rented 2 double queen rooms. Ended up being on different floors. You really couldn't ask for a better location on the human aspect. VERY walkable for brunch, lunch, nightlife spots, etc. The staff is friendly enough and accommodating. Late check outs are available. One of the best brunch places in town are right downstairs in the lobby (beatrix). Average price range for the rooms. Nice rooms. Not the greatest view on the ones we had but wasn't really there for that. I'm sure u can request rooms that face out if that's important.

On the pup side. Definitely dog friendly in that there are amenities they can provide: bowls, bed, etc. No extra fee, which is always nice. The one and only downside is the lack of green space in the area which of course is not fault of the hotel. If u have a small (or any size I guess) dog that is used to doing his/her business on sidewalks then there's no issue. Lots of people walking doggos in that area. Very nice.

In Chicago? Stay here!

The Talbott Hotel

This hotel is in an AH-mazing location downtown. VERY walkable area. All within a mile or less of a couple of the best pizza places in the city, shopping, brunch.. all types of food. Plenty of bars and nightlife walkable or a short lyft. The staff is amazing! So accommodating! So nice!

We rented a junior suite (myself, my daughter and her bf plus our 2 large 70+lb dogs). PLENTY of room for us all. There was a slight mix up though as BringFido app said it was a king bed with a twin Murphy bed. The Murphy bed is the king (it does sit very low to the ground if u are disabled maybe check for a different type of bed) and there was no twin in the room we got. They do however have junior suites with a king and a twin but the Murphy bed is the king so once u book the suite. Call the hotel and let them know ur needs. This mixup was very easily and quickly corrected as the hotel provided us with a twin rollaway for no extra charge. It seems like an older hotel that' s been upgraded...live the aesthetic! Loved the murphy bed. So cute! Great view. AND to top it all off they're very dog friendly ...no extra fees for more dogs etc.

The street the hotel is on is on is not super busy ..which is nice for walking and crossing the street with the dogs. There'd a small little corner park literally across the street for quick potty trips and then a bigger unofficial (unfenced) park for walking the doggos for longer potty trips.. there's also a fenced dog park maybe 10 min drive from the hotel in the middle of the city...amazing views.. FYI lakeshore dog park. :-)

Only down side is the parking is street parking or garage. The one officially for the hotel is like $50-55 /day. But the front desk kindly explained to me an app that finds cheaper garages in the city. Very close. So on the other side of the block was a garage I found much cheaper ...be careful though when u book it to be sure that it is an "in and out" location if u plane on driving anywhere. I know this is a long review but I can't say enough good things!! We will be back!!
