This La Quinta is like the other ones where they require a $25 dog fee. The dog can be left alone in the room, and they place you on the first floor near an exterior door so the dog can go outside easily. There is no set place for walking so sometimes the dogs go near the entrance to the pool. The grounds also need to be picked up as there is a lot of trash moving around the parking lot. The hotel itself is just fine and the staff was friendly.

We were given a room on the first floor near the back and the pavement was so hot that it was difficult for Mia to do her duty. Fortunately they did have a small patch of grass near the stairwell. The breakfast was mediocre at best, basically cold cereal, coffee and a pancake machine. For the price, it will pass.

David and Lee were very friendly and helpful and did their best to keep us and Mia comfortable. Definitely a rerun!

We were looking for waterside dining and the Oar House was great. Recommend their Grouper and grits house special. Mia got her water bowl before we got our drinks!

Stopped at Polk City BBQ while heading south on FL SR 33. They had sll konds of great bbq.We ordered the Van Fleet dinner and it fed the 2 of us and made enough for 2 meals. There are two shaded outdoor tables plus takeout. Well worth it!

The motel has seen better days. The rooms are borderline clean and there are no signs thta extra cleaning has been done due to covid. The outside parking lot is large but no real place to walk the dog. The first non-smoking room we were given had been used by a cigar smoker so we were given another one. Furniture old and faded. Will stay somewhere else if we pass that way again

Mama Mia, our Benji terrier approved of the location and the outside seating. There are 4 outdoor shaded tables on their outdoor patio outside of the main entrance. Chops and Hops has an extensive beer and wine list and many selections to choose from on their menu. Our attentive waitress made sure Mama Mia had a full water bowl. Their desserts ate killer as well. We will b back when we are in this area again!

Loved visiting the Buzzards Roost. Great quiet location good service and great food! I had a Lobster Reuben that was tasty as were the crab cakes. We’ll be back!
