Nice, clean, comfy

OYO Hotel Castle Rock CO Downtown

Since this was the first time, I did like my stay. The best part is there were places nearby to eat.

Filth and more filth

Motel 6 Fort Collins CO

I had paid in advance for a room, and I should have made a much closer look at what I got. I have no idea when the laws were changed, but I had to specifically tell them that I wanted a non-smoking room, when I set up the reservation. It seems no one could read because I had to tell the folks at the front desk about one of my specific requests.

Not only that, but I did not feel comfortable the first night because the first thing I saw in the room were the cigarette burns on the bed coverings. I barely had any Wi-Fi access in the room. One thing I noticed is my service dog would not sit or lay on the floor. To me, that was okay because we had not “cuddled” in quite some time because of the time I suffered from COVID-19 and pneumonia.

The second of three nights I had paid for, after taking a shower, I finally noticed one of the many reasons why I had felt uncomfortable when I got into the room. Under the sink, behind the toilet and behind the door in the bathroom was never cleaned. It was not something I would have expected in a college town and next to the interstate highway system.

Still had little to none by way of internet access, got tired of trying to get online so I turned on the television only to find there was no reception on the television. Called the front desk to find out what was happening. I was then told that the weather caused the outage on the television and no idea when it would be fixed. I then asked about the internet access and was told it should not be a problem.

It was then I started packing everything up, and everything combined has me wonder if I can talk to someone about the mess that I experienced. I guess it was a good thing that there was no breakfast as advertised for I would fear getting food poisoning.

I guess the one good thing about the place is that there were no bedbugs in the room because that was one of the first things I checked for once I realized that those holes were cigarette burns, Since I did not know whom I could trust to talk to, I just told the folks when I checked out that there was about 30" of snow back home and needed to get back there.

One thing that took me by total surprise was being told that it would cost an extra $5 for either the room fridge or microwave. To top it off, that was a charge per night. What fully ticked me off was the idea of being charged an extra $30 for three nights for what was advertised as well as shown as part of the room. Things like this not showing up as a part of an upfront price gives the impression that they may also rent the rooms out on a per half to full hour basis.

Nice and Quiet

Coyote Mountain Lodge

This is something I believe I really needed, even with Damarchus my service dog. We've been out in public maybe a half dozen times since I had Covid back in May, and it was great doing this with him.

The folks whom I had dealt with were friendly and respectful toward this beat-up veteran with his service dog.

When I'm able, my service dog and I will go back when we can. As well as often that my allowance will let us.

Rooms were clean

Super 8 by Wyndham Greeley

The place is okay. The rooms were cleanish, and it shows the character of the town.
