Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens is a pet-friendly attraction in Bucyrus, KS. Bring Fido to explore the 300-acre educational, recreational and cultural resource in the Kansas City region. Leashed dogs are welcome on asphalt and mulch hiking trails, but please note that dogs aren't permitted in the botanical gardens themselves. Divided into two areas along the shorelines of Cedar Bluff Reservoir, this park is home to lots of primitive campsites and trails which stretch across 850 acres of land. The dog-friendly Shawnee Mission Park is a multi-use, 1,600-acre park located in Kansas. It is the largest park in the county and the most visited park in the entire state of Kansas. Its 53-acre off-leash dog park, one of the largest in the country, has hiking trails, large open spaces and a 200-foot dog beach. The park is also home to a number of fantastic amenities such as a beautiful 120-acre lake that's great for boating, fishing, sail boarding, and much more. There are 11 spacious shelters, numerous picnic areas, nature trails, play areas, an archery range, a disc golf course, and trails to enjoy mountain biking and horseback riding. The park is also home to The Theatre in the Park, Shawnee Mission Park Beach, and Shawnee Mission Park Marina. In season, there are canoes, pedal boats, and fishing boats available for rent at the marina.

Wyandotte County Lake Park trails extend across a 1,500-acre dog-friendly area in Kansas City, KS. Starting right before Shelter 9 in a large wooded area on the east side of the lake, you will find the trailhead for the WyCo Single Track Trail. From the trailhead there are several options for trails, all interconnect with each other at points along the way and eventually loop back to the beginning. The trails are well marked and you'll find multiple maps along the way so you don't get lost. Wyandotte County Lake Park is also a popular spot for fishing, picnicking and biking.
