When summer ends, restaurants in chilly states call time on patio season. Reserve a table with your doggy dining partner on these pet-friendly patios before they close. And don’t worry if you miss out, you can always dine indoors with your pup at these fine eateries.

Spend a weekend in dog-friendly Chicago and eat like Kings and Queens during Waggin’ Weekends at 312 Chicago. The Italian restaurant offers a “Cagnolino Menu” on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 2pm, including mains like chicken and pasta, salmon and white rice, plus treats like a beefsicle and peanut butter biscuit. While you enjoy a flatbread or steak from the Californian comfort food menu, Fido can sink his teeth into items from his own menu like Remi’s Beef Patty, Molly’s Chicken Breast and Pepsi’s Scrambled Eggs. As soon as his food has settled, head to Big Bear Marina and charter a boat for the afternoon to explore the lake together. The pet-friendly patio at Nottingham’s Tavern is open May through October.

The menu includes crab cakes, chicken and waffle sandwich, and more. Dogs can enjoy a refreshing bowl of water and a treat while you eat. The restaurant’s great location makes it easy to explore one of the most pet-friendly cities in the U.S. after you eat. Around the corner, Battery Park Book Exchange & Champagne Bar will feed your intellectual side and your pup’s insatiable appetite with even more treats. Hit the motherload with your mutt at Motherloaded Tavern in Breckenridge, CO. Gather on the welcoming patio with your pooch for nibbles, sandwiches and more accompanied by a house-infused, mason jar cocktail. Visitors to the tavern at lunchtime can ride the Breckenridge "BreckConnect" Gondola in the afternoon to see the mountain town from above.
