Pet Reservations
Korean Air only allows a certain number of pets on each flight, so they suggest you book Fido a spot on board as soon as you confirm your travel plans.
Pets in the Cabin
Dogs, cats and pet birds can travel in the cabin if the combined weight of the pet and carrier does not exceed 18 lbs (7 kg). Pets must be at least 8 weeks old to fly. The fee for this service depends on the destination of your travel.
Pets in Checked Baggage
If the combined weight of your pet and carrier is between 11 lbs (5 kg) and 70 lbs (32 kg), they qualify for travel as checked baggage. Animals weighing between 72 lbs (33 kg) and 99 lbs (45 kg) can also fly in the hold as checked baggage, but passengers should be aware that they may not be accepted by some countries due to certain regulations. Pets must be at least 16 weeks old to fly. The fee for this service depends on the destination of your travel.
Pets in Cargo
Animals that exceed the maximum weight of 99 lbs (45 kg) to travel in the cabin may be transported as freight cargo instead. If animals are not accepted as checked baggage where you are flying to, sending them as cargo is the best method. Each person is permitted to transport up to 4 dogs at any time. Pets under 90 days old are not allowed to fly with Korean Air. For further information, contact the Korean Air Cargo Traffic Team at 82-2-2656-5868.

Additionally, cloth and leather carriers permitted for carry-on pets. For pets traveling as checked baggage, carriers must not exceed the combined dimensions of 114" (291 cm).
