Better than expected
Sonesta ES Suites AnnapolisFirst I think the dog fee was high but it seems that was what Annapolis hotels were asking. The front desk staff could use some more training. The parking and the layout was strange, but the room was clean and spacious although we were on the road and it was a bit noisy. I would stay here again but would ask for a first floor room since my mobility is slightly compromised.
Not much dog space
Hampton Inn LaramieThe hotel was fine as was breakfast. The dog space is small which is fine for most people. We have an active dog so generally prefer a little more space for her.
Just one thing
La Quinta by Wyndham Altoona Des MoinesIt was a very bright place with comfortable beds. A good steak place within walking distance. My only negative was the breakfast which was subpar. Not a big deal if you are not much of a breakfast person. And it was rough getting a hot cup of coffee. The urns were always empty and the coffee lukewarm. Would stay there again but would get my morning fix somewhere else.
Everything worked
La Quinta by Wyndham KearneyThe place met all of our needs. The only thing they need to work on is breakfast. Just FYI, the dog rooms are on the second floor.
Convenient stop
AmericInn by Wyndham Laramie Near University of WyomingThe place was basic but clean. I think overpriced; however, all the hotels in Laramie were running high over the weekend. Conveniently located off the interstate.
Okay stay
Candlewood Suites Champaign-Urbana University Area an IHG HotelI do t know how to fairly rate this hotel although I won’t go back. I came in to the lobby with a sign stating we are helping another guest and we will be back shortly. After waiting and hearing voices I thought I would go check. Yes, the front desk person has was just chatting away with someone. Was pleasant enough. That’s apparently how they staff the front desk. Room was clean but thinking there was a lot of road noise I realized our window had been left open on the first floor.
Great stay
GL Best Western LexingtonEverything was as advertised. The hotel is five years old and modern and is such a better choice than most Best Westerns I have stayed at recently.
Great stop except…
Holiday Inn Express Lexington an IHG HotelThis is a really nice hotel except the no dog left in room alone rule is not followed. There was a dog howling I assume from separation anxiety. I mentioned it to the front desk and they seemed to know the person who belongs to the dog and basically shrugged their shoulders. My heart hurt for this animal who clearly should not have been left alone.
Everything we needed
Hampton Inn Santee-I-95The hotel has been renovated and has great rooms. The staff was friendly and helpful and the location was great for us. A number of restaurants are closed on Mondays but we managed to find one that served a decent dinner. There was also a decent place to throw some ball for a dog who slept in the car all day. Treats were a bonus.
A quick stop on the way home
My Place Hotel - Dahlgren/King George VAIt was extremely reasonable and located fairly convenient to where we were heading. It is a simple place but had everything we needed and we were even able to play fetch with our dog in the back.
Great stop
Carter Caves State Resort ParkI’m not sure how to rate this since we got what we expected. It’s a state park with some amazing hiking and views. The restaurant was so so. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff was helpful and happy.
Lots of space
Best Western Plus WaynesboroThe hotel is older but was in good condition with lots of space. There were restaurants on either side of the hotel. Staff was great in getting us a room on the first floor.
Cute little town
New Harmony Inn Resort and Conference CenterThe inn is very simple and some things need to be updated. It was clean and comfortable and the steering was just what we needed. We have been traveling along major routes and got tired of the trash around the hotels and the noise. We would stay here again. We were able to sit outside with our dog and have dinner.
Hotel was updated
Hampton Inn YorkOkay he hotel room was small but was updated and comfortable. Finding food wasn’t the easiest. And just beware that the roof is currently being replaced but didn’t impact us because of arriving a little later.
Convenient location
Tru by Hilton CheyenneThe hotel was very nice and fairly new and they bent over backwards to get us on the first floor. My only problem was there wasn’t much space to exercise our dog. I should have checked that out before booking. We did find a park fairly close.
Won’t stay again
Best Western Shelbyville LodgeThe hotel is so outdated and is in bad shape. The lobby looked nice but the pictures were deceiving. There was a hole in the bathroom tile which I stuffed with tissue to keep possible critters out. The location was not good for finding a restaurant. After a long day of driving we did not want to go far. We had to sign so many things for the dog and then they put $50 on the card for incidentals for damage which was refundable. I think I should have received $50. We will not be staying at BW again unless it is a Plus. Tonight we are at Candlewood and what a pleasure.
Good location
Best Western Lexington InnThe location was good. There was an Applebee’s next door and a gas station with great prices. Staff was friendly but the hotel is showing its age.
Small comfortable hotel
Mustang InnI wasn’t sure what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. It was a little noisy but it was very convenient. There wasn’t a big area for the dog but we managed. Staff was very nice and helpful.
Great stay
Candlewood Suites Columbia East an IHG HotelWe had stayed here before. The room was sparkling clean and it felt safe. A good night sleep was had by all. We would definitely stay there again.
Convenient stop
Best Western Plus Bass Hotel & SuitesThe hotel was conveniently located with a new Publix nearby and a couple of restaurants nearby. The room was adequate although bedding could be updated. The outside did look tired and dated and the outside ashtrays were way too close to the doors. There were many smokers and if you didn’t Smoke, you could get overwhelmed with the smoke. The bright spot was the young man who checked us in who made it possible for us to be on the first floor near the door so that our old dog had easy access to the outdoors. Thank you.
Just okay
Best Western Plus York Hotel & Conference CenterThe staff was helpful but I think the property looks a little tired. The room could have been a little updated. It was conveniently located.
Last stop
Best Western Plus Frontier InnThis was our last stop in a long trip. The young lady who checked us in was very efficient, the room, was comfortable, and overall it was a good stop. The room was very clean and we all slept well.
Good stopping point
Hampton Inn St. Louis ChesterfieldThe hotel was a little tired looking in spots but it was clean and staff was pleasant to deal with. The room was a little small with two dogs but we had a good nights sleep and left early the next morning.
Won’t be using them again
La Quinta by Wyndham TupeloThe bed was comfortable but that was about all I can say. The microwaves has been used and not cleaned before we got there. The hairdryer was not there Two housekeepers entered our room without knocking. The grounds were awful. There was debris everywhere. We will most likely not returning to any La Quinta.
Hampton Inn
Hampton Inn & Suites TiftonWe were very pleasantly surprised by our stay. The front desk was wonderful and the room was exactly what we were hoping for. Breakfast has been changed a bit during COVID. We did not eat breakfast so I am unable to comment on it. The hotel has very easy access from I-75.
