Journey enjoyed her stay at Rio Grande Inn!
Best Western Plus Rio Grande InnMy dog & I were quite comfortable at the Rio Grande Inn in Albuquerque; the hotel is clean and safe with friendly staff. A raised dog bed is provided for pup's comfort. There is one problem, but I believe that it cannot be remedied because the inn is located in the New Mexico desert with limited water resources. The very nicely situated and designed dog relief area contains artificial grass inside a desert landscape area. My dog refuses to "potty" on rocks or artificial grass, even after being cooped up in the car for hours and walking around the parking lot. A hose is provided to wash off the artificial turf, but even that did not entice my Golden Doodle; she refused to even step on it. I solved the problem by taking her outside of the gated parking lot (yes, it is gated for security which I like). Once she found a patch of grass, she did her business. (Of course, I cleaned it up.)
I recommend the Rio Grande Inn. Just be aware that you might need to take your pup for a bit of a longer walk (which is needed after a long car ride anyway) off the property grounds if yours is picky like mine is.
Not great, but OK
Red Roof Inn GallupThe room was clean & comfortable. Unfortunately, the dog relief area is rock, not grass, & my pooch needs grass. The coffeemaker did not work & the smoke detector was missing.
