Dog Friendly in Durango

11th Street Station

We found 11th Street Station while struggling to find a dog friendly bar/restaurant in Durango, and it was such a pleasant surprise. This is a food truck court with several indoor and outdoor seating areas with table service, and dogs are welcome in the outdoor areas. They take your drink order and bring it - for food you go to the truck and order, then they deliver it to your table. The beer and cocktail menu is quite respectable and the waitstaff (Lisa!) were very friendly with us and our inquisitive little Jack Russell mix, Jacki! They cheerfully brought her a bowl of water.
Apparently it takes months to get a permit for dogs in an outdoor dining area in Durango and most restaurants do NOT allow dogs, even in outdoor areas. Some claim to be dog friendly but expect you to tie your dog to the fence outside the dining area. Really out of step with the other places on our trip!!

Nice place!

Circle D Eatery

We had dinner on the patio with our dog. The food was good (wedge salad and green chili grilled chicken sandwich), and the staff was very friendly. You order the food and pay inside, and they bring it to you. The servers also cheerfully offered a water bowl for our dog. The menu also has more substantial food - lots of burgers as well as BBQ, trout, pasta, etc. We’d return again!

Good choice

Best Western Plus Rio Grande Inn

Good location and friendly. No grass on site but nice gravel/astroturf pet area with picnic tables and shade. And fortunately our girl will go on gravel if enough other dogs have! And we really liked the restaurant at the hotel! Wild Avocado - good breakfast and very good New Mexican food!!
